Associate Professor

Emilio Barchiesi is an Associate Professor of Structural Mechanics at the Department of Architecture, Design and Urban Planning. He is a member of the PhD Board in Architecture and Environment at the University of Sassari and of the National PhD Program in Defense against natural risks and ecological transition of built environment. Since 2024, he has been a member of the Scientific Committee of the M&MoCS Center at the University of L’Aquila. He has authored over 70 publications in international journals. He is an editorial board member of Mathematics and Mechanics of Complex Systems, Mathematics and Mechanics of Solids, Mechanics Research Communications, and Continuum Mechanics and Thermodynamics. Since 2023, he has been the national coordinator of the PRIN project Metamaterials Design and Synthesis with Applications to Infrastructure Engineering and the local coordinator for the PRIN project A Fluid-Structure Interaction Tool for the Protection of Clean Energy Production Sites.
