Short bio

Mario De Luca graduated with a thesis in Marine Biology and Geology. He specialized in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and completed a second-level Master’s degree in GIS and Remote Sensing for geo-environmental planning. Since 2009, he has been involved in mapping marine environments within the main Marine Parks and Protected Areas of Sardinia. He earned a Ph.D. in Architecture and Environment, focusing on marine geology. He is a member of the research team led by Prof. Vincenzo Pascucci and collaborates with the University of Texas at Austin on studies related to the impacts of climate change on Quaternary sedimentary environments, through the morphological and stratigraphic analysis of alluvial fans in Anza-Borrego and Big Bend National Parks (USA). He teaches the courses Climate Change and Landscape Evolution and Anthropogenic Transformations and Hydrogeological Risk at the University of Sassari.
