Short bio

Stefan Tischer is a Landscape Architect and Urban Designer. After his studies in Landscape Architecture at TUM (Technical University of Munich, Bavaria) and ENSP (École Supérieure de Paysage) in Versailles, he realized public space projects of international significance with his professional studio in Berlin. Since 2002, he has devoted himself to academia. He was, among other positions, Full Professor and Department Head of Landscape Architecture at the University of Montreal, Full Professor and Department Head of Landscape Theory and Design at ENSP Versailles, and Aga Khan Visiting Professor at Harvard University's Graduate School of Design (GSD). He is the co-founder and scientific director of LandWorks. And co-founder of Topos magazine. The significance and quality of his projects have been recognized with the “Belmont Prize 2003” for Public Space and Landscape Architecture, as well as the “Deutscher Landschaftsarchitekturpreis 2025".
