Francis Russell PhD student | XLI Cycle Short bio PhD student Francis Russell’s research focus is on innovations in cross-disciplinary pedagogy for urban design. Russell is an Assoc. Professor Emeritus at the University of Cincinnati. There since 1990 he served in instructional and administrative positions to design progressive, problem-based, cross-disciplinary curricula and experiential learning programs to address real-world challenges. In applied research and technical service he facilitated university engagement with community and industry partners and directed numerous urban design projects, public architecture initiatives, and research efforts. In dissemination he organized and delivered over 150 presentations, conferences, forums, and workshops and produced 12 scholarly works to contribute to academic and public discourse. Russell holds credentials in Art, Urbanism, and Architecture respectively from Vassar College, The New York Institute for Architecture and Urban Studies, and Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
