Digitization and documentation of cultural heritage

The research laboratory GRA.VIS Laboratory of Graphic and Visual Sciences in collaboration with LaMo Laboratory of Physical and Virtual Modeling offers projects and consultancy aimed at the digitization of cultural heritage.
Starting from survey campaigns of sites and cultural heritage, integrated survey strategies capable of acquiring, documenting, digitizing and representing archaeological finds and sites, architectural monuments, urban fabrics and complex territories are studied and tested.
Digitization takes place through the use of a wide range of equipment and software that support research and experimentation activities. Instrumental equipment includes terrestrial and aerial 3D laser scanners, systems for surveying and geolocation, drones for photogrammetric surveying, portable scanning devices, and advanced measuring instruments.
The data thus acquired can be made available not only as three-dimensional models but also through forms of graphical representation useful for the processes of protection, recovery, restoration and enjoyment of digitized sites and cultural heritage.
